WELCOME TO OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL IN RUTLAND
Welcome to the home page of Oakham Town Council's website.
Situated in the picturesque Vale of Catmose Oakham is the County Town of Rutland, England's smallest mainland County.
There is a classic combination of Castle, Market Place with a Buttercross and Stocks (intriguingly with 5 holes), an old and famous school and a magnificent church. These are all arranged in a rectangle around which the town has grown.
Today Oakham is a thriving market town that is undergoing considerable expansion. It currently has a population of approximately 10000 people.
There are weekly markets held on a Wednesday and a Saturday as well as a Farmer's Market held on the third Saturday of each month.
This site has been developed to inform people of the work and activities of Oakham Town Council. Suggestions as to how it could be improved are always welcome.
Normal opening times are 10.00am - 2.00pm from Monday to Thursday. However, the office is permanently staffed where possible and visitors are more than welcome outside of these hours. Please note that the office is closed to the public on a Friday
